Holistic Mindfulness Based Pyschotherapy
ABC-Awareness Brings Choice
Mindfulness will be threaded throughout our work together. This doesn’t mean sitting for hours in meditation, it just means you’ll learn to focus your attention on the present moment where you can begin to notice patterns of pain and joy in your body, mind, and emotional experience and make mindful choices and changes toward improving your future experience living as your Authentic Self.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. We’ll collaborate to determine the best path for you drawing on Trauma-informed, Time-tested, and Evidence-based modalities to help you uncover Balance and Peace in Body, Mind, and Spirit, and Relationship with others, including: Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, EMDR, and other Somatic and Emotion Focused modalities, Relational, Attachment, Expressive Arts, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Sometimes when it all feels like just too much, a more structured approach is helpful. We can discuss if DBT or DBT-Informed is the right choice for you. DBT was developed by Marsha Linehan for individuals struggling with Severe Emotion Dysregulation (High Sensitivity to Intense Emotional Overwhelm), suicidal, and self harming behaviors. Research has shown DBT to be effective across many symptoms and disorders (Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Personality Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Relationship Difficulties, High-Conflict Relationships, Impulse Control, and More). DBT is Emotion Focused, rooted in Mindfulness and offers specific behavioral skills (ie. concrete things you can do in challenging times and day to day) to improve Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. DBT can help you identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and develop new skills to find a Balance of Acceptance and Change in yourself and your environment to manage your experience in the present and move toward your Life Worth Living. Phone Skills Coaching is available to help you learn to use your new skills between sessions and get you through those tough moments when you’re really not sure what to do.

Treatment for Trauma-EMDR
There are times in life when experiences are so painful it becomes challenging to process them emotionally and mentally. Sometimes these experiences are repeated attachment wounds accumulated over time, leading to what’s called complex trauma. This can have a long-term impact on our sense of security, self-confidence, and ability to connect with others. The road to healing starts when we can find a way to integrate these painful memories in a healthy way and rebuild a positive, life-affirming sense of self, others, and the world around us. EMDR is designed to assist our natural information processing system to finish the work that was halted due to being overwhelmed.
